Leaving fandom is never the answer! You're only letting it affect you so much because you were already in a delicate teacup frame of mind (I fear all my comfort from now on is going to be Hannibalesque, which is worrisome).
I read a journal entry the other day where somebody made fun of one of my recs, which didn't make me feel awesome but it wasn't personal and umm, I'm a loser but chanting my lion mantra helped me feel better:P
