Highlight of my day...

So I just got a pretty awesome email...

What makes this email so interesting is that this author is someone I contacted in the past to see if I could podfic their works. And they were one of the very few who actually took the time to email me back and explain that they weren't into it. Which I appreciated, instead of standing there holding my breath for all time. So yeah. I just closed the email and never looked back.

But having them email me like 9 months later and say they have done a complete 180 in regards to the idea of podficcing...well I feel satisfied and excited to have changed at least one persons mind. So I'm gonna mark that in the accomplishment category, and call that a win for podfic and podficcers.

That's all I got. Just sitting here happy as a clam and thought I would share:)

That is a rare and wonderful thing. I did have one Generation Kill author tell me something that was sort of the converse; she said that she had refused podfic in the past, and although she had mostly changed her mind about it, she still doesn't give permission because she didn't want to be unfair to people she'd refused permission to in the past. I do think this is becoming less of a "thing" as podfic becomes more and more ubiquitous in most fandoms. In the few short years I've been reading it, it's gone from something where most people have to ask "What is it?" to something that most take for granted. And look at you, furthering the process/cause. :)
